The First Harvest of 2024 – Sauvignon Blanc
Cape Vue, the luxury boutique wine estate and country house in the centre of Franschhoek wine country, has just harvested its first grapes of the new year – sauvignon blanc.
The yield is lower (as with most wine farms this year) but the quality is excellent and the winemaker is (metaphorically) rubbing his hands in glee.
The Balling is high, giving the winemaker complete freedom to set the optimum alcohol level -you can always reduce the alcohol but can’t increase it if it isn’t there in the first place.
Bottling should start in July and the wine will be available in August. If you don’t want to wait until then, we still have stock of some excellent wines, and you can order online via the Cape Vue shop, or from Wine of the Month if you’re a member.
It’s hardly surprising Cape Vue is producing such excellent grapes.
Located a convenient few hundred metres from the Huguenot monument, its prestigious neighbours such as La Bri, Colmant, Glenwood, Le Lude, Holden Manz, Boekenhoutskloof and La Bourgoyne produce four and five star wines like clockwork every year.
Look for the same from Cape Vue’s 2024 Sauvignon Blanc!
